Aorangi Awarua Trustee and Hikoi guide Richard Steedman has recently guided several family hikes on Mt Aorangi. From the young family who went heli-hiking to the dynamic mother and daughter duo who were as fast up as they were down, our tracks have something for everybody.
The heli-hike allows you to cut out the steady climb to the 1200m peak of Mt Aorangi, and is ideal for those of us with old legs or short attention spans.
Hikes are ideal for squeezing in family bonding time, and our guides will ensure everybody has a great experience. You will learn about the history and mythology of the Mokai Patea people and experience the freedom of exploring a remote part of New Zealand.
